Common mistakes

In a game situation, pupils can panic and rush their throw without aiming or using the correct technique.

Encourage pupils to be composed and even when under pressure to throw quickly, ensure pupils understand the importance of throwing accurately with the correct technique.

For parents, carers and teachers
  • Highlight pupils demonstrating the correct throwing technique and use them to model to the class. When setting up the zone for beanbags in Learning Cycle 1, ensure it is large enough to minimise any risk of pupils colliding and bumping heads.
