IlluminatED

IlluminatED · Business overview

A learning game built around repeat practice.

Students practise subjects and apply knowledge in a playable city. Teachers review completed work and topic gaps. Our next milestone is a school pilot measuring engagement, learning and willingness to renew.

Problem

Students need a consistent way to practise and apply knowledge. Teachers need visibility into completed work and learning gaps.

Product

A browser-based learning game: short subject sessions, explained answers and simulated workplace challenges, connected to saved progress and teacher-set homework.

Initial customer

UK secondary schools and sixth forms running a defined subject or class pilot. Learners aged 13+ use invited accounts.

Revenue model

School licences with agreed learner seats and onboarding. Invited individual learners have free core study access and optional £5.99/month Premium when available.

Distribution hypothesis

Start with founder-led school demos and small class pilots. Expand only after teachers and learners demonstrate repeat use. This is a plan, not a contracted pipeline.

Product differentiation

Subject practice and applied workplace scenarios share a playable environment and progress record. The hypothesis is that this encourages repeat practice; it needs comparison testing.

The next pilot should answer three questions

  1. Do learners complete a first practice session and return without prompting?
  2. Do comparable topic assessments show improvement after repeated practice?
  3. Do teachers find the progress useful enough to continue with a paid licence?

Record cohort size, dates, denominators and dropouts. Report actual results, including negative findings. Do not present these questions as achieved outcomes.

Workplace activities are simulations, not employment, accredited qualifications or endorsements by named companies. Review privacy and safeguarding before discussing a learner pilot.
