Words to know
- throwing
- using your hand to send a ball through the air to a specific target or area
- catching
- to take hold of something that is thrown
- concentration
- paying close attention to a given task
Common mistakes
A fear of being hit by the ball can cause pupils to flinch, shy away or close their eyes.
Ensure pupils understand that they need to keep their eyes on the ball, focusing on it until it is in their hands.
For parents, carers and teachers
- Use a range of different sized balls to challenge all different ability levels. Ensure to use HA pairs to model good technique to the class.
