Words to know
- Strathspey setting step
- a combination of three travelling steps and a small hop
- formation
- how a group of dancers are arranged
- travel
- to move from one location to another
Common mistakes
Pupils rely on copying others to get the steps right rather than learning the steps themselves.
Exaplain to pupils the importance of showing resilience and rehearsing to become more familiar with the actions, directions and patterns.
For parents, carers and teachers
- The hop at the end of the Setting Step is usually a small action and can be adapted into a balance or a brief pause to prepare the pupils to travel in the opposite direction.
