What you’ll learn
I can mirror my partners’ actions using an object.
Key learning points
- Move: when using objects we can move with them or around them.
- Move: copying and mirroring requires us to replicate the actions of others.
- Think: imagination enables us to think how we can move an object or prop in a variety of ways.
- Feel: self-belief enables us to create actions for our partner to mirror.
- Connect: fairness requires us to consider the needs of others.
Words to know
- partner
- working with one other person
- copying
- to do the same actions as another person
- mirroring
- reflecting an action
Common mistakes
Mirroring and copying are the same
Mirroring is a type of copying, it specifically requires the movement to be translated to the opposite side of the body to produce the effect of a reflection. Copying can be a direct replication of the action.
For parents, carers and teachers
- Ensure pupils are sufficiently apart to be able to view their partners' actions easily.
