What you’ll learn
I can take on specific roles within a team to work towards achieving a common goal.
Key learning points
- Move: running with short, efficient strides conserves energy for the duration of the challenge.
- Move: using both lower and upper body when throwing will increase the potential power.
- Think: sharing your thoughts and reflections out loud enables all team members to learn and make informed next steps.
- Feel: staying calm when mistakes are made prevents blaming others for errors and keeps morale high.
- Connect: encouraging and helping all team members increases the chance of success.
Words to know
- decision making
- the process of selecting the best course of action from multiple alternatives to solve a problem
- collaboration
- working together with others to solve a problem
- evaluation
- assessing the effectiveness of different solutions and deciding which one is the most effective
Common mistakes
The task is impossible.
Each stage of the challenge is possible. A reset in order to start again may be a good strategy if you get confused.
For parents, carers and teachers
- If you can source 5 old tyres or see if your DT department can make you 5 rings of increasing size (x4) this will add to the first learning cycle.
