I can use the perfect tense and produce developed answers in a conversation about the environment and social issues.
Key learning points
- To conjugate the perfect tense, use the verb ‘haber’ + past participle.
- To form the past participle of regular -ar verbs, remove the -ar and add -ado.
- To form the past participle of regular -er/ir verbs, remove the -er/ir and add -ido.
- A well-developed conversation answer contains three verb clauses.
Words to know
- perfect tense
- verb tense used to express what has happened, e.g. ‘I have listened’, ‘you have bought’
- verb clause
- a piece of information that contains a subject and a verb
Common mistakes
I should keep my answers short in a conversation and avoid extending my sentences.
In a conversation, you should extend and develop your sentences to include at least three verb clauses.
For parents, carers and teachers
- The questions for Task C1 can be simplified to be more suited to Foundation-tier students. Questions such as '¿Qué problemas sociales hay donde vives?' may be too complex for students at this tier.
