Words to know

manipulate

social

dynamic
the speed and force of an action, how it is performed

Common mistakes

The steps learnt have to be performed in a set order.

In the Lindy Hop, the dancers' personal style and flair was highly prized so they would find new and inventive ways of arranging and performing the key actions seen it this style.

For parents, carers and teachers
  • Say the names of the actions to complement the rhythm pattern, e.g. 'kick, kick, double kick'. This not only helps the pupils to remember the actions but also supports their musicality and ability to collaborate successfully.
