- a carefully planned set of actions that are used by a team or an individual to achieve a certain goal

Common mistakes
When fielding in games, pupils believe that retrieving the ball and running it back to the bases is the most effective and quickest way to field.
Encourage pupils to work as a team, by backing each other up and supporting each other. Ensure pupils understand that accurately throwing the ball to a teammate that is closer to the bases will be more effective and quicker than running with it.
For parents, carers and teachers
- When putting pupils into teams, try to create fair teams with pupils of all abilities/expereinces. This allows for competitive games and a chance for pupils to scaffold each other's learning. Ensure pupils keep hold of their bat after hitting the ball and they do not throw it down before running.
