- Think: dribbling the ball with control into space helps to keep the ball away from the defenders
- Feel: accurately keeping track of our score requires honesty.
- Connect: playing by the rules promotes fairness.
Words to know
- dribble
- using our hands or feet to move with the ball keeping it under control
- control
- keeping the ball close and moving it where you want it to go
- space
- an open area where it is safe and there are no defenders
Common mistakes
When using their fingertips to bounce the ball, pupils use the ends of their fingers.
Ensure that pupils understand that using the fingertips refers to the flat part at the top of their fingers.
For parents, carers and teachers
- Use balls that are different sizes and textures. Allow pupils opportunities to explore different bouncing techniques before explaining the best technique.
