I can write a detailed description of after-school experiences using a range of features.
Key learning points
- Preterite endings for -er/-ir verbs are -í, -iste, -ió (singular persons) and -ieron (third person plural).
- A detailed description often has a wide range of features.
- We can also use longer texts to enrich vocabulary and style and ensure we include varied and interesting language.
Words to know
- preterite
- a tense used for events completed in the past
Common mistakes
All the singular persons of -ar, -er, and -ir verbs in the preterite have an accent.
Only the 'I' and 'she, he, it' forms have an accent. For -ar verbs, the endings are -é and -ó; for -er and -ir verbs the endings are -í and -ió.
For parents, carers and teachers
- Teachers can allocate time for students to practise B3 in pairs (asking and answering the questions).
