Key learning points
- Pay attention to French sounds and pronunciation rules as you complete the read-aloud task.
- In comprehension tasks, it is important to read questions carefully before answering.
- Always give the correct number of details when answering a question.
Words to know
- distractor
- incorrect but plausible answer option in reading/listening tasks, designed to test your attention to detail
Common mistakes
Words will stick in my memory if I read them enough times.
It is the act of reaching for words that roots them deeper in memory, so testing oneself or working in pairs to try to recall words from memory is the most effective learning strategy for holding onto words in your long term memory.
For parents, carers and teachers
- It will be helpful for pupils to have a copy of the questions or better still, the texts and the questions.
