Key learning points
- Revisiting vocabulary helps us review important and useful Spanish words that we can confidently use in class.
- In Spanish, we can use the 1st person plural - the 'we' form - for classroom instructions.
- To form the 'we' form with regular -ar verbs, remove the -ar ending and add -amos.
- To form the 'we' form with regular -er verbs, remove the -er ending and add -emos.
- With Spanish verbs, we don't usually need to use the pronouns; the verb ending tells us who does the action.
Words to know
- verb
- a word that communicates actions or states
- 1st person plural
- form of pronouns and verbs used to refer to 'we'
Common mistakes
When using verbs in Spanish, we need to use pronouns, as we do in English to describe who is doing the action.
In Spanish, we don't usually need to use the pronoun as the verb ending tells us who is doing the action.
For parents, carers and teachers
- Use the song regularly in the classroom. This will reinforce classroom verbs, instructions, the 1st person plural and vocabulary. And, of course, singing is fun!
