What you’ll learn
I can recognise success and strive to achieve personal bests in different components of fitness
Key learning points
- Move: challenging my body in all elements of fitness helps my overall physical health and fitness.
- Think: recognising my own success and achievement helps my mental health and wellbeing.
- Feel: challenging myself in components of fitness that I find more difficult requires self discipline and resilience.
- Connect: encouraging others to achieve their personal best supports positive mental health and wellbeing.
Words to know
- component
- a part of something bigger
- success
- achieving something that you have tried really hard to do
- wellbeing
- the state of being comfortable, healthy and happy
Common mistakes
Some pupils might think they will only be successful if they can achieve all the activities at the most challenging level.
Everybody is different and success is different for everyone. Anyone who tries their best and gives maximum effort should feel successful, regardless of the level of challenge they completed.
For parents, carers and teachers
- Allow pupils to move between activities at their own pace and try to avoid a 'timed circuit' style approach. A suggested set up diagram is provided to ensure safety considerations are maintained as pupils move between activities.
